Series Overview
In September, school and schedules take off like a bullet train. That’s why it’s so vital for all of us to learn how to pause, take a deep breath, and tune our hearts to Hear from God. Our faith is living and active. We serve a God who wants to speak to us and who designed us to hear from Him every day! For many of us, though, hearing from God feels complicated. Where do I start? How do I know if it’s God or my own thoughts? God loves when we ask those questions—and we’re excited to help kids ask those questions, too, as we explore FREQUENCY – Learning to hear from God. The story of Samuel shows you don’t have to wait until you are older to hear from God! Our world is so full of noise and anxiety that learning to hear God’s voice is vital. It’s a rescue. When kids learn to stay close to Jesus and hear directly from God that they are loved and valuable, they can walk through a chaotic world with a growing peace and confidence.

How To Hear From God

This week, kids will discover that when they follow Jesus, they can hear His voice—just like sheep know the voice of their shepherd. We’ll walk through different ways that God speaks to us, including directly to our hearts, in His Word, through other people, and even in nature.

How To Read The Bible

This lesson explores how the best way to listen for God’s voice is to read His Word. We discover how Scripture is God-breathed and valuable for every part of life. We’ll land the week with a fly over of what the Bible is—and isn’t—as well as a quick tour through the different parts of God’s Word.

This week, kids will learn that in order to hear God’s voice and grow strong, we need to stay close to Jesus in everything that we do. As we see in the story of Adam and Eve, we were created for friendship with God, and God wants to stay close to us, even when we’ve done wrong things.

Week Four (September 26/27)
The Lord Calls Out To Samuel
Bible Story: 1 Samuel 3

In this lesson, kids hear that even though the boy Samuel served in the Temple, he did not yet know God’s voice. When God called out to him in the night, Samuel was confused… until the priest Eli instructed him to ask God to speak. Then Samuel was faithful to listen and to share God’s words.
