Series Overview
This month, we want to equip kids to understand that no matter what they face, God is fighting with them and for them. Jesus wins! And in the end, everything will be made right, even if it’s not our timeline. With this truth in mind, we can always find strength and courage in God! Our theme for the month helps kids discover THE SAFE PLACE: God is stronger than anyone or anything.

Week One (October 3/4)
Israel Captures Jericho

This week, we visit the edge of the Promised Land, where it seems that Joshua and the Israelites have no chance against the strongly walled city of Jericho, their only path into the land God had promised. But God is so strong He doesn’t need their weapons—only their obedience.

Week 2 brings us to the story of Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego. All officials in the region are ordered to worship a gigantic golden statue, and the penalty for those who refuse is a quick trip into a blazing hot furnace. When Daniel’s friends defy the king’s order, they’re tossed into the flames. But instead of meeting a quick end… they meet Someone unexpected.

Time to travel to the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus and His disciples are caught up in a wild storm. While His friends panic, Jesus takes a nap. But when they wake Him up, Jesus shows in a single instant that God is never asleep to our needs— and always in control.

We wrap up the month with an incredible reminder about the end of our story. On the evening before giving up His life, Jesus told His friends, “In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.” Jesus’
resurrection proves that everything He said is true! And what’s more, Jesus gave His friend John an incredible vision of His triumphant return at the end of time. Kids can be confident that, in the end, God will make everything right.
